The Mission of the North Brunswick Humane Association is to provide education and guidance to our community in pet and wildlife issues through various community groups, civic organizations, and school boards for the purpose of enhancing quality of life for our pets, wildlife and residents. We also support endeavors that promote humane and protective services in the treatment of animals.

 July Minutes – were Read and Accepted

 Treasurer’s Report: Total Monthly Income- $3029.08, Total Monthly Expenses- $4202.85, Net Loss of $1173.77- the Cash Balance as of 7/31/18 was $67,260.82


Upcoming Events & Issues:




  • NBHA Rummage SaleJuly 21st- from 8am-2pm in the Township Complex- Dan Smith – Total Sales $1207.00


  • Garden State Cat Show & Expo – July 21st & July 22nd – 10:00am-4:00pm- 97 Sunfield Ave, Edison- Carol Paszamant – Jackie Gminder reported $65.00 in donations. All went well at the event.


  • 15th Annual Dog Walk-a-Thon & Adoption Day Event – September 16th, rain date September 30th- NB Community Park – Michele Andrea & Dan Smith – Update- -10 Sponsors, 24 Vendors & 8 Rescues so far. We are still accepting Vendors & Rescues. Signs are complete to take after the meeting. A sign location sheet was passed around. Trifolds are complete and to be taken after the meeting to place in local businesses. The volunteer sheet for those interested in working was passed around.


  • Community Cat Program- Theresa Spatora -Update- July 18th we had 21 new cats assisted; 9 were TNR, 9 went to Foster/Adoption, 3 needed Medical Assistance. The Program spent $2137.00 in July. YTD- the Program has spent $11,400.


  • Dine to Donate – Leslie Earle Update – next events are August 30th – TGI Fridays-11am-1am (all day) & Yappy Hour at the Green Turtle on September 14th – 5pm-9pm (bring your pup on a leash for outdoor dining).


  • NBHA Web Site Design– Leslie Earle – Leslie is working on a new layout. Shawn offered his service since he is in the web business. Leslie, Dan & Shawn will meet to discuss.


  • National Night Out –August 7th 5:00pm-9:00pm- Township Complex – Dan Smith & Michele Andrea – thanked Jennifer for organizing and running the Pet Coloring Table, Jane for being there with King her dog. He was sweet to all the kids and Nancy for running the NBHA table and handouts. We all enjoyed ourselves.


  • Heritage Day – October 6th -11:00pm- 5:00pm – NB Community Park-Dan Smith & Michele Andrea – a signup sheet for volunteers was passed around.


  • Super Cat Adoption Day Event– Lisa Coletta – the final update – 45 Adoptions & a total cost was $242.46. We had Victory Subaru and Katie’s Pet Depot as Sponsors.


  • Victory Subaru- Dog Adoption Day Event– Michele Andrea -Update- They are looking to have an October Dog Adoption Day at the dealership. Michele will work with them.


  • Board Positions- Lisa Coletta spoke to the members about the January elections coming up for Board Members. It’s a 2-year term of office. Our fiscal year begins in February 2019. If someone is interested, please let us know.


  • Membership Meetings for 2019 – Michele Andrea- Handout of the 2019 Meeting Schedule took place.
