The Mission of the North Brunswick Humane Association is to provide education and guidance to our community in pet and wildlife issues through various community groups, civic organizations, and school boards for the purpose of enhancing quality of life for our pets, wildlife and residents. We also support endeavors that promote humane and protective services in the treatment of animals.

The Meeting was Called to Order by Cheryl Vitow at 7:03pm

Opening & Introductions took place by the Membership

The November minutes were posted and approved.

Treasurer’s Report – treasurer’s report was discussed.

Nominations Committee was explained and board positions were discussed. Two Year Terms, President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary and five board members. Interested parties should contact Vince for next Month’s meeting.

Programs Review – Current

Cat Food Drive at the Loft in Highland Park (440 Raritan Ave) now through January 18th
Fundraising Updates:
Barnes and Noble Bookfair and Gift wrapping – Saturday December 17th. We discussed the schedule for the gift wrapping. In addition to bookfair and gift wrapping there will be school bands and choirs from North Brunswick, an art show from students in Piscataway, and online orders of cheesecakes picked up that day. Online orders continue through December 21st

Proposed Calendar of Events for 2017
February – Open House and Valentine’s Day Appeal for donations
A committee was formed for the Open House – Erica, Susan, Karin Miller, Donna, Jennifer, Michele, Beth and Jackie
Other ideas included setting up a “virtual valentine” where you can send an ecard in support of NBHA
April 7 or 8th – “Spring Fling” Tricky Tray/Movie Night
May – Flea Market but no Rummage Sale this year.
June – Super Cat Adoption Day
July/August – Food truck event
“ October – Dog Walk
November/December – Pocketbook Bingo
Other events would include more Dine to Donate events, 50 Feral Fix, Mobile Clinics and tabling events including at Rutgers Gardens Farmers Market
