 The Meeting was Called to Order by Jay Soloway at 7:30pmOpening & Introductions were made by the Membership

The February Minutes were read and accepted by the Membership

Treasurer’s Report – Vincent Sheehan – No Treasurer’s report was provided this month

 MONTHLY ASSOCIATION UPDATES:

Dog/Cat Food Bank – Update- Sandi Erickson reported, NBHA fed 33 cats and 5 dogs this past month.

Donation Cans Update – Update – Sandi Erickson reported YTD donations total- $112.18

Discussion Points & Event Updates:

Stress Factory Fundraiser– March 3rd Results – Eileen Lorner reported proceeds from this event were $1878.00. Nice Job Eileen!

Open House Membership Drive – March 10th –Vincent Sheehan reported we have 6 new members for the organization. Sandi Erickson thanked everyone for the food donations and we took the remaining food to Ozanam Homeless Shelter in New Brunswick. Thanks Sandi –Good Idea!

Flea Market /Rummage Sale – May 18th– Update- Sharon Weinstein Canavan & Eileen Lorner updated the membership. Sharon has received some donations already. We will need hangers for clothes, start saving hanger everyone. Still need Sales Associates. Eileen Lorner reported Vendors have been contacted from last year and thru other venues. Nancy will go to Englishtown Flea Market. Sandi will do a tear off flyer. Michele to add verbiage to bottom of flyer only “ Collecting for Our Pet Food Bank”. Nancy Costello mentioned that a good place to allow our flyers is Dog Grooming shop. She has placed some inn The Barking Spa in Milltown.

Super Cat Adoption Day– June 8th -Update – Lisa Coletta & Lora Muckin- Lisa reported she sent out invitations to 13 Animal Rescue Groups. We already have heard back from 3 groups. We still need NBHA Cat Coordinators. Lisa asked for a $2300 Budget. A motion was made and second by the membership.

Simon Malls– Memorial Day Weekend- Jay Soloway & Sandi Erickson-Menlo Park and Brunswick Square Mall. Saturday, May 30th of Memorial Day weekend. Sandi and Tucker, Jay and Cubby will lead the tabling events.

New Business & Good & Welfare

Animal Rescue Force Annual Tricky Tray -will be held on April 6, 2013 at the East Brunswick High School on Cranbury Road. Prizes include a weekend nite stay in a NYC hotel, restaurant and excursion(worth $500) in addtion to 42″ flat screen tv, $500 Visa Card, $500 Target card, Lap top Computer, camera, printer, Gift Baskets, Theater, Restaurant, etc.Two 50/50 raffles, door prizes and more. $5.00 admission only if you buy tickets in advance. $80 at the door the night of the event if there are tickets left. Doors open at 6:00pm and ticket pulling starts at 7:30pm Must be over 18 to play. Free coffee and pastries. Help support the animals in need.
ticket prices are: Level 1 (up to $49 value) 1 sheet (of 25 tickets) for $2.
Level 2 ($50 – 99 value) 1 ticket for $2.
Level 3 ($100 – 499 value) 1 ticket for $3
Grand prize ($500 plus) 1 ticket for $5
The value packs are $40. For advance tickets, please send a check payable to Animal Rescue Force, P.O. Box 418, East Brunswick, NJ 08816 along with a self-addressed stamped legal sized envelope. Upon receipt the tickets will be mailed to you.

Karma Cats Fundraising Gala- Paws for Celebration 2013- is being held on April 19th – Dinner & Wine, Live Music, Silent Auction at the East Brunswick Elks. $50.00 per ticket . For more information go to their web site www.karmacatzendog.org

NBHA– Clair Butkus made a motion and it was second for a $500 Annual Budget for materials for the educational program. Education Program

Helmetta Shelter- A discussion ensued about the Helmetta Animal Shelter and why is North Brunswick Township outsourcing to this shelter that Kills All Animals? Questions were raised as to the possibility of our members attending a Council meeting and allowing us to be heard about this subject.

The Sayreville Shelter is closed and Seer Farms is taking over.

The Renaissance Village TNR Project will resume on March 26th-April 9th
